Tackle Football

Tackle is offered from U12, in the spring and the fall, with certified coaches, proper equipment and contact taught step by step. Flag doesn’t end: spring flag runs up to U18, so many players do both. New players can join tackle at any age from U12, even if they’ve never played.

U12: the first year tackle is offered

U12 is played 6 a side. This is a key age for learning football skills, so practices focus on technique: blocking, tackling, ball handling and reading the play. Players keep trying different positions.

U14 and U16

At U14 and U16, players are placed on teams as fairly as possible, balancing skill, age and experience so every team is competitive. The number of teams each season depends on how many players register and how many volunteer coaches we have. From U14 up, teams travel for some games, for example to Saint John or Fredericton.
